UC Presidential Policy on Gender Recognition and Lived NameThe University must provide the minimum three equally recognized gender options on university-issued documents and IT Resource systems – woman, man and nonbinary – and an efficient process for current students and employees and UC alumni and affiliates to retroactively amend their gender designations and lived names on university issued documents, including eligible academic documents and in IT Resource Systems.  
 
The policy also articulates expectations for confidentiality, including published documents and in IT Resource Systems.

Guidelines on Discrimination and HarassmentThe University prohibits discrimination or harassment against students, persons employed; seeking employment; or applying for or engaged in a paid or unpaid internship or training program leading to employment, or individuals accessing or participating in University programs or activities on the following Protected Bases: race, color, national origin, religion, sex*, gender, gender expression, gender identity, gender transition status, pregnancy, physical or mental disability, medical condition (cancer-related or genetic characteristics), genetic information (including family medical history), ancestry, marital status, age, sexual orientation, citizenship, or service in the uniformed services, including protected veterans.Sec. 700-18: Guidelines on Discrimination and Harassment
Guidelines on Sexual Violence and Sexual HarassmentThe University is committed to maintaining a community dedicated to the advancement, application and transmission of knowledge and creative endeavors through academic excellence, where all individuals who participate in University programs, activities and services can work and learn together in an atmosphere free of harassment, exploitation, or intimidation.Sec. 700-17: Guidelines on Sexual Violence and Sexual Harassment
Accommodations for Nursing Mothers In promoting a family-friendly work environment, the University of California recognizes
the importance and benefits of breastfeeding for both mothers and their infants. The
University will make private space available for lactation purposes and will provide
lactation break periods for employees who are breastfeeding (hereinafter referred to as
“nursing mothers”).
